National Instruments TB-2605 Terminal Block
The TB-2605 is a front-mounting, screw-terminal terminal block with multiplexing properties. The NI TB-2605 is a member of the terminal block series by NI. The TB-2605 correlates to the part number 777878-01. The NI TB-2605 is compatible with the NI 2501 and NI 2503 and connects to the front panel I/O connector of each PXI switch card. The TB-2605 Terminal Block includes an analog bus plug for simple multiplexer expansion.
This isothermal terminal block contains a printed circuit board with screw terminals. The screw terminals are used to make connections to all of the channels, with the exception of the cold-junction sensor. The NI TB-2605 can function with ease with thermocouples, voltage signals, thermistors, and resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). The TB-2605 is configured with isothermal features to reduce the temperature gradients across the screw terminals. This terminal block additionally has an extremely precise cold-junction temperature sensor, which can be used when measuring with thermocouples.
To use the terminal block, the following items are needed: a NI 2501 or 2503 switch card, a NI 2501/2503 User Manual, the TB-2605 isothermal terminal block, wire cutters, a 0.10 in. slotted screwdriver, wire insulation strippers, analog bus connectors, and a No. 1 Phillips screwdriver.
The NI TB-2605 is constructed with an enclosure to preserve an isothermal atmosphere for the cold-junction sensor and the screw terminals. The screw terminals on this terminal block can be utilized to link to every channel, excluding the cold-junction sensor. The TB-2605 is built with two extra connectors on the front panel to provide connections for the analog bus. You can utilize the low-voltage AB plug to link the analog bus of nearby switch cards. The device has a cold-junction sensor accuracy of 0.5° from 15 to 35 °C, 0.9° from 0° to 15° C, and 35 to 55 °C. Additionally, it has a cold-junction sensor readability and output of 0.2° from 15 to 35 °C and 198.54 mV to 19.58 mV from 0 to 55 °C, respectively. The NI device measures 3.3 x 4.2 x 0.80 in. (8.4 x 10.7 x 2.0 cm) in physical dimensions.
TB-2605 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the terminal block will still be available for purchase and repairs through Apex Waves.
