ZTEC ZT420PXI Single Channel Digital Storage Oscilloscope Module

The ZTEC ZT420PXI is a single channel digital storage oscilloscope module for PXI systems that offers 8-bit vertical resolution for precision analysis. It provides sample rate from 10 to 200 M samples per second and delivers 100 MHz analog bandwidth for accurate capture of fast transients. This unit integrates a wide input range from 1 to 50 V peak to peak. The oscilloscope module supports selectable input impedance of 50 ohms or 5000 ohms with 10 pF capacitance. It offers DC coupling; AC coupling or input disconnect for flexible connection to industrial sources. This unit maintains DC accuracy within 1% of full scale across all configured acquisition ranges.

The digitizer front end of ZT420PXI achieves less than 1.5% percent noise under operating conditions. Its single simultaneous acquisition channel ensures deterministic measurements in tightly synchronized control architectures. The device uses an 8- bit analog to digital converter for data throughput into waveform memory. Its dedicated waveform memory provides 4 M samples per channel with sizes up to 4 M samples and its memory segmentation allows configuration from 1 to 1024 sequential records. It’s rearmed time below 5 micro-sec supports capture of rapid event bursts in automated testing for minimizing host transfers while preserving complete sequences of interest in demanding scenarios.

The digital storage oscilloscope features trigger resources that includes channel input, front panel input, backplane lines and software driven triggers. Its trigger level spans the full input scale with selectable rising or falling edge sensitivity. The ZT420PXI's external trigger input accepts 5 V into 10000 ohms through an SMB connector and its trigger output is TTL compatible into 50 ohms through an SMB connector for synchronization. Its acquisition gating supports pre-trigger and post-trigger operation with programmable delay and width intervals. Its gate timing covers 100 ns to 6.5536 s acquisition window. A timestamp with 100 micro-second resolution is associated with each acquired record. This unit accepts a 10 MHz reference from either its internal oscillator or backplane.

The ZT420PXI’s PXI integration provides 3.3 or 5 V PCI compatibility at 33 MHz. Its backplane resources expose PXI trigger lines star trigger and 10 MHz reference routing options. The oscillator’s mechanical design follows a single wide 3-unit CompactPCI PXI form factor for modular deployment and it’s on-board digital signal processing supports measurement math waveform filtering and statistical analysis functions.
