Able to perform full-scale testing of Packet over SONET (POS) and SDH systems, the SmartBits POS-3511A TeraMetrics Module simulates millions of control protocols in the process of testing. The SmartBits POS-3511A TeraMetrics module is designed to work with the Spirent SmartBits SMB-600 and SMB-6000B performance monitoring system/chassis for testing of POS/SDH routers with frame-level precision in generation and analysis. The evaluation, comparison, quality assessment, and validation of the POS routers are a few among the basic and outstanding features of the SmartBits POS-3511A module.
The Spirent SmartBits POS-3511A module supports a line rate of 155 Mbps in OC-3c and a line rate of 622 Mbps in OC-12c applications. Equipped with 2 ports on the interface, the SmartBits POS-3511A module can perform stream-based analysis and generation efficiently. The generation of peer-to-peer streams up to a maximum number of 512 and analysis up to a maximum number of 64K streams at any instant can be done by the SmartBits POS-3511A TeraMetrics module. The frame length range supportable by the SmartBits POS-3511A TeraMetrics Module is 42 bytes – 16384 bytes.
The Spirent SmartBits POS-3511A module supports a frame size range of 8 to 16384 bytes in Capture Mode. Each port of the Spirent SmartBits POS-3511A TeraMetrics Module is featured with a capture buffer memory of 16 MB. The Spirent SmartBits POS-3511A TeraMetrics Module possesses a 1300 nm wavelength interface. In the multimode operation, the reach of the Spirent SmartBits POS-3511A module is up to 500 meters. The Spirent SmartBits POS-3511A TeraMetrics Module is compatible with Windows OS.
