The SmartBits GX-1421A is a powerful Ethernet GMII/MII SmartCard. The fabricator of the SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet SmartCard is Spirent Communications. The compatibility of the SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet SmartCard is with multiple SmartBits modules and performance analysis systems. The Spirent SmartBits SMB-200 and SMB-2000 Chassis can house the SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet SmartCard. The design of the SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet GMII/MII SmartCard is based on the functions of the Spirent SmartBits GX-1420B SmartCard. Both SmartCards can be joined to test the capabilities of various network devices.
The SmartBits GX-1421A comes with a single-port interface. The line speed supported by the SmartBits GX-1421A is 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps. The full-duplex operation is supported only at 1000 Mbps line speed. At 100 Mbps, the SmartBits GX-1421A can operate at either half-duplex or full-duplex mode depending on the user’s requirement. The traffic generation at 100% wire-rate along with IP checksum analysis is possible with the usage of the SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet SmartCard. Additionally, the SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet SmartCard has a built-in capability of detecting IP checksum error, generation of IP checksum error, and generation of the CRC error.
The Spirent SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet GMII/MII SmartCard is featured with the characteristics of VLAN tagging, generation of PING, and analysis ARP. The SmartBits GX-1421A can test the performance and potential of GMII-based and MII-based devices. The Spirent SmartBits GX-1421A complies with the IEEE specification 802.3ab. The frame size supported by the Spirent SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet GMII/MII SmartCard lies in the range of 20 – 2048 bytes. Spirent Communications sells the Spirent SmartBits GX-1421A Ethernet SmartCard without any software.
