National Instruments TS-15200 Programmable DC Power Module
The TS-15200 (Part Number: 788265-01) manufactured by National Instruments is a programmable DC power supply module with a single channel. This module was created for use in the automated test and industrial functional validation systems of NI's TestScale platform. This module has one quadrant output and supplies a maximum of 6V, 3A and 18W of power. The module was made to provide precision and integration while providing programmability of both voltage and current down to 30 mA for both voltage and current. Due to its capabilities, it can be used to power many types of low-voltage electronic devices and components that are located inside a test rack.
One of the distinguishing features of the TS-15200 is that it is a remote-sense module, which allows it to measure the actual voltage at the DUT's connection point, eliminating voltage drop through the output cable(s). It also provides a variety of protective functions such as, over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection; and will limit input voltage to 30V to protect itself as well as the unit being tested. Additionally, it is capable of accurate programming and read-back of voltage and current, along with a fast measurement rate of up to 10 kS/s. The module requires an external auxiliary power input (VAUX) that ranges from 11 to 28 volts, and can be obtained from either the Front Panel IO connector or the system backplane.
The NI-DAQmx software and drivers can be used to control the TS-15200. Development environments including Python, C/C++,.NET, and LabVIEW, as well as NI's system management software (TestStand and SystemLink), are easily accessible through the NI-DAQmx software and drivers. The programmability and software integration capabilities of the TS-15200 make it ideal for use in applications such as automated production testing, HIL simulation, and R&D in laboratories. The DC Power Module is stable enough to meet the needs of industrial automation applications; it is best used with a minimum capacitive load and there are many different cabling options available to optimize transient response and minimize lead resistance in order to accurately deliver power in harsh industrial environments.
