National Instruments PXI-8517 PXI FlexRay Interface Module

The PXI-8517 (Part number: 780689-02) FlexRay Interface Module is intended for the improvement of FlexRay applications as part of the NI-XNET CAN platform. The FlexRay physical layer on PXI interfaces is internally fueled. All things considered, there is no compelling reason to supply bus power. The COM pin serves as the reference ground for the bus signals. The impediments on sessions relate basically to a casing or its signals. For instance, if the user makes a Frame Output Queued session for frame A, then they can make a Signal Output Single-Point session for frame A. This mix of sessions is not permitted, even though written work information for a similar edge with two sessions would result in inconsistent sequences of data on the network.

The NI PXI-8517 includes a Frame Input Stream Mode. This mode reads all frames received from the network by utilizing a single stream. It is regularly used for analyzing and logging all frame activity in the system. The input data is returned as a variety of frames. Since all frames are returned, the user’s application must evaluate identification in each frame (such as a CAN identifier or FlexRay slot/cycle/channel) to decipher the frame payload data. The PXI 8517 also offers a Signal Input Waveform Mode. Utilizing the time when the signal frame is received, this mode resamples the signal data to a waveform with a fixed sample rate. This mode normally is utilized for synchronizing XNET data with DAQmx analog/digital input channels.
