National Instruments PCIe-6593 High-Speed Serial Instrument

The PCIe-6593 is a High-Speed Serial Instrument. The NI PCIe-6593 is manufactured by National Instruments. PCIe stands for peripheral component interconnect express. PCIe is basically an interface standard used for connecting high-speed components. PCIe slots are used in desktop PC motherboards and the type of PCIe used depends on the motherboard.

The PCIe-6593 transfers data at a rate of 16 Gbps. The NI PCIe-6593 has 8 channels. The PCIe-6593 helps in validating, interfacing, and testing serial protocols. For implementation of various high-speed serial protocols, the NI PCIe-6593 instrument has multiple Xilinx FPGA Kintex Ultrascale options. KU040 and KU060 are the available reconfigurable FPGA options. LabVIEW FPGA software is used for configuring and programming the PCIe-6593 to maximize application-specific reuse and customization. The PCIe-6593 can use up to eight TX and RX lanes multigigabit transceivers by FPGA. The NI PCIe-6593 and other PCIe High-Speed Serial Instruments are used to add GPUs, SSD, or Wi-Fi add-on cards.

x1, x4, x8, x16, x32 are different physical configurations available for the PCIe-6593 and other PCIe slots. The number after x describes the number of lanes in the slot and data transfer rate. The connector type for the PCIe-6593 is SMA. The power requirements for the NI PCIe-6593 depend on the contents used in the application of the LabVIEW FPGAVI, but 58 W is the total power requirement of the High-Speed Serial Instrument. The NI PCIe-6593 is available for indoor use only.

PCIe-6593 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the instrument will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
