National Instruments 781472-01 Serial Interface Module
The 781472-01 is a Serial Interface Module from National Instruments that is equipped with 8 ports. It is the identifying part number for the NI PXIe-8430/8 model. This module is not isolated and supports the RS-232 serial communication standard. Featuring a 68-pin VHDCI I/O connector, this PXIe module has a maximum baud rate of 1 mbps and a FIFO size of 128 bytes. The FIFO settings are adjustable by the user. The device can withstand random vibrations within a frequency range of 5 to 500 Hz, with random vibrations of 0.3 grms when operational and vibrations of 2.4 grms when not in use.
The RS-232 standard features single-ended transmission lines, with a maximum of one driver and one receiver. The maximum cable length that can be used should measure the equivalent of 2,500 pF. The 781472-01 Serial Interface Module meets the following standard safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CSA 61010-1.
