National Instruments SCXI-1320 Front-Mount Terminal Block
The SCXI-1320 (Part Number: 777687-20) High-Voltage Terminal Block is shielded with screw terminals that can connect to several module’s input connector: the SCXI-1121, SCXI-1120D, SCXI-1126, SCXI-1120, or SCXI-1125. The SCXI 1320 has 18 screw terminals for effortless attachment. A pair of screw terminals can attach to the SCXI module chassis ground. When this Terminal Block is used with the SCXI-1120/D, SCXI-1125, or SCXI-1126, then the other eight pairs of screw terminals are used for signal attachment to the eight module inputs. However, when the NI SCXI-1320 is used with the SCXI-1121, then four pairs of screw terminals are meant for the four module inputs, while another four pairs are meant for the module excitation outputs.
This Terminal Block is also equipped with an onboard temperature sensor for cold-junction compensation utilizing thermocouples. It is recommended by NI to keep the SCXI chassis away from an extreme temperature differential for precise cold-junction compensation.
When preparing to use the NI SCXI 1320 Terminal Block, these items are required: an SCXI chassis, an SCXI module (SCXI-1120, SCXI-1120D, SCXI-1121, SCXI-1125, or SCXI-1126), Number 1 and 2 Philips-head screwdrivers, a wire cutter, a wire insulation stripper, long-nose pliers, and a 1/8 in. flathead screwdriver. To attach the SCXI 1320 to the SCXI module’s front connector, first link the front connector to the appropriate connector on the SCXI-1320. Then, make sure to tighten the top and bottom thumbscrews on the back of the Terminal Block so it is locked in place.
SCXI-1320 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Terminal Block will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
