National Instruments SCXI-1180 Custom Circuitry Module

The NI SCXI-1180 (Part Numbers: 776572-80, 181710E-01) has a front panel and a 50-pin ribbon-cable assembly utilized to incorporate unconditioned signals into a small, durable SCXI chassis-based system. This module can be utilized with the SCXI-1302 Terminal Block for signal breakout. The SCXI-1180 can be operated with the PC, AT, and MC data acquisition board and an SCXI module, with NI-DAQ software for DOS/Windows/LabWindows. This Custom Circuitry Module can also be used with the NB Series data acquisition boards and an SCXI module, with LabVIEW or NI-DAQ software for Macintosh.

The SCXI 1180 module is designed for use with the NI SCXI products. This module extends signal lines for signals that do not need conditioning from the back to the front of an SCXI chassis. The NI SCXI-1180 only takes up one slot of an SCXI system and links with ease to the user’s SCXI cable accessory. In addition, this Custom Circuitry Module can be utilized to direct the I/O signals of individual DAQ instruments to the front of the user’s SCXI system for convenience. This module can also be used as a daisy-chain extender with the SCXI-1340, SCXI-1341, or SCXI-1342 cable assembly. With those combinations, the user can access signals on the cable between a module and a plug-in board, especially signals that the module does not utilize.The male breakout connection of a SCXI-1340, SCXI-1341, SCXI-1342, SCXI-1344, or SCXI-1351 can be connected to the rear connector in the adjacent slot.  An example of this is that the user can access the analog output of digital I/O lines of an MIO board while the analog input lines of the board are linked to a module.

SCXI-1180 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
