National Instruments SCXI-1129 Matrix Switch Module
The SCXI-1129 (Part Number: 776572-29) is a 256 crosspoint high-density Matrix Switch Module, with a maximum scan rate of 100 crosspoints per second. This module offers a 4 x 64, 2-wire switch matrix configuration maximum on an SCXI platform. The NI SCXI-1129 Module can additionally function as four 4 x 16, 2-wire matrixes; two 4 x 32, 2-wire matrixes; or two 8 x 16, 2-wire matrixes. The standard matrix language defines matrixes by the quantity of rows by the quantity of columns they comprise. With terminal blocks, the SCXI-1129 module can be configured as a multitude of matrixes.
The SCXI-1129 is created to function well at low and high voltages. For low-voltage measurements, this module utilizes relays with < 9 µV thermal offset to guarantee precise measurements. The device is equipped with electromechanical, latching, and nonlatching relay types. This Matrix Switch Module supports the analog bus with a specific adapter, the high-voltage analog bus backplane adapter in the SCXI-1357/1358 kit, at the back of the module. This adapter enables the user to expand the high-voltage analog bus backplane adapter without the necessity of complex wiring. If the user links several modules to the high-voltage analog bus backplane adapter, then they can expand the matrix size without the need for external row or column connectors. The SCXI-1129 module can be utilized with one of the following terminal blocks: the SCXI-1336, SCXI-1333, SCXI-1335, SCXI-1337, SCXI-1334, or SCXI-1339.
When the user is installing the NI SCXI-1129 module in an SCXI chassis, the farthest right slot (when the chassis is observed from the front) must be the initial slot filled. Then, the user can proceed filling the slot to the left with the next SCXI-1129. Other SCXI modules can be loaded from left to right.
The SCXI-1129 operates using the NI-SWITCH driver software, in conjunction with the NI-DMM software. The device can be programmed using an application development environment such as LabVIEW, Measurement Studio, or Visual Basic. The device weighs 1 lb.(725 g), and measures 7.8 x 1.2 x 6.8 in. (19.8 × 3.0 × 17.3 cm) in dimensions.
The SCXI-1129 has been announced Obsolete by National Instruments, but the Matrix Switch Module will still be available in perpetuity for both purchase and repairs from Apex Waves.
