National Instruments SCXI-1001 Chassis
Featured with 3 Internal Analog Busses and 12 slots, the NI SCXI-1001 (Part Numbers: 776571-02, 776571-05, 776571-07, 776571-04, 776571-03, 776571-01, 776571-06, 776571-09, and 776571-10) is a low-noise, rugged Chassis designed to hold up to 12 SCXI modules. This model can not only power SCXI modules, but it can handle all trigger, timing, and signal routing between the user’s SCXI modules and digitizers as well. For future expansion or more extensive systems, a maximum of eight NI SCXI 1001 Chassis can be daisy-chained for high-channel-count applications with the help of a single E series digitizer.
To match the user’s country, this Chassis offers seven different power options, each with a different part number, and can be reconfigured for use in other countries as well. The SCXI 1001 is compatible with all the major operating systems, including Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and LabVIEW RT. The National Instruments SCXI-1001 is fully compatible with the NI-DAQ 7 and NI-SWITCH driver software, making configuration and operations a simple task. It can be programmed using software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, or VI Logger. Using any of the above-mentioned ADEs greatly speeds up your development time. The NI SCXI-1001 has optional rear or front rack mountable configurations.
With a forced air cooling mechanism, this Chassis can be used in a rack-mount, panel mount, or portable configuration. This SXCI Chassis is featured with the SCXIbus. Any module installed in the chassis will automatically connect to the bus in the backplane. The SCXIbus enables communication between different module’s routes for digital and analog signals. The NI SCXI 1001 can also synchronize the timing between the DAQ device and each module. Thus, this setup allows the user to scan input channels from multiple modules at a rate of 333 kS/s for every DAQ device. The device weighs 14 oz., and measures 9.8 x 17.3 x 7.0 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, and a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C.
The SCXI-1001 is now considered Obsolete and is no longer available direct from National Instruments, but the Chassis will still be available for purchase and repairs with Apex Waves in perpetuity.
