National Instruments 776572-60 General-Purpose Switch Module for SCXI
The 776572-60 is an important part of the Signal Conditioning eXtensions for Instrumentation (SCXI) Series from National Instruments, which is made especially for power and low-level signal switching and control. This module has sixteen independently programmable isolated single-pole double-throw (SPDT) latching relay channels. The 776572-60, also referred to as the SCXI-1160, is compatible with the DIO-24, DIO-32F, and DIO-96 boards as well as a number of National Instruments data acquisition plug-in boards, including as the MIO-16, Lab-NB, Lab-PC, Lab-PC+, Lab-LC, and PC-LPM-16 boards. A single chassis may control several 776572-60 modules with a single data acquisition board.
An extra shielded terminal block with screw terminals is included with this module to make signal attachment simple. Because the SCXI chassis may act as a controller or switcher, it is perfect for use in production testing, laboratory testing, and industrial process monitoring. With National Instruments software, such as LabVIEW for Windows and LabWindows for DOS, which are powerful program development packages for data acquisition and control applications, the 776572-60 functions without a hitch. While LabWindows improves Microsoft C and QuickBASIC, LabVIEW provides graphical programming. Both LabVIEW and LabVIEW provide large libraries for data acquisition, instrument control, data processing, and graphical data presentation.
The 776572-60 is compatible with NI-DAQ software for DOS/Windows/LabWindows when linked with the PC, AT, and MC data acquisition boards. Multiple programming languages are supported by this software: Visual Basic, Turbo Pascal, Microsoft C with SDK, Borland C++, Turbo C, Turbo Pascal, Turbo C, and Microsoft C for Windows; Professional BASIC, Turbo Pascal, Turbo C, Turbo C++, and Microsoft C for DOS. High-density 5.25- and 3.5-inch diskettes are the formats on which NI-DAQ software is offered.
To utilize LabVIEW for Macintosh, Mac users can pair the 776572-60 with the NB Series data acquisition boards. With its advanced user interface, graphical programming language, and interactive graphics, this software system is quite strong. Accompanying LabVIEW is the LabVIEW Data Acquisition VI Library, which is the Macintosh equivalent of NI-DAQ software. Numerous language interfaces are also supported by NI-DAQ software for Macintosh.
