National Instruments PXIe-SMU5102 PXI Source Measure Unit Bundle
The NI PXIe-SMU5102 (Part Number: 867112-03) is an all-inclusive PXI Source Measure Unit bundle designed for use in the development of automated test systems. The bundle consists of the PXIe-1083, a 5-slot PXI Express Chassis, which has proven to be a solid platform for PXI instrumentation, and the PXIe-4137, a high-performance PXI Source Measure Unit. Included with the PXIe-4137 are basic accessories such as a Thunderbolt cable for rapid communication between the unit and a host computer and a US power cable for quick connection to AC power. All of the items included in this Source Measure Unit bundle work together to ensure a simple setup!
The PXIe-4137 SMU, a very flexible source measure unit with exceptional precision for measuring and sourcing voltage and current, is the core component of the PXIe-SMU5102 bundle. The SMU has DC capability of ±200 V and ±1 A and pulsed current capability of ±3 A. Additionally, the PXIe-4137 has a very precise DC power resolution of 20 W and can detect very small currents of 100 femtoamperes. These characteristics make the PXIe-4137 ideal for characterization of many types of devices, including but not limited to integrated circuits (ICs), power management ICs (PMICs), radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs), as well as discrete components including LEDs and optical transceivers. The PXIe-4137 is ideal for demanding applications in manufacturing tests, board-level testing, and laboratory characterization.
The PXIe-1083 chassis supplies the power and cooling that is needed for the PXIe-4137 to work as intended. With a five-slot hybrid backplane that supports both PXI Express and Compact PCI modules, the PXIe-1083 can deliver up to 58 W of cooling per slot. Additionally, a Thunderbolt 3 MXI-Express controller is included into the chassis for quick data transfer and straightforward host computer operation. The combined capabilities of a precision source measure unit and a capable chassis provide the PXIe-SMU5102 bundle as a powerful, all inclusive solution for engineers developing sophisticated automated test systems that require both high voltage and very sensitive measurement capabilities.
