The NI PXIe-PPS5101 Programmable Power Supply Bundle (Part Number: 867118-03) is a fully self-contained, extremely accurate test system for engineers developing automatic validation systems. This package bundles a PXIe-4113 programmable power supply module into a versatile PXIe-1083 5-slot chassis. This complete system is ready for immediate use, utilizing cables including a power cable and a Thunderbolt cable for high-speed connection to a control PC. A screw terminal connection kit helps ensure that setup is quick and painless.
The PXIe-PPS5101 Bundle is designed for providing programmable DC power for a variety of test applications from aerospace and defense to automotive electronics. The PXIe-4113 power supply module at the heart of this bundle has two isolated channels, each capable of sourcing 0 to 10 V at a very robust 6 A maximum total supply current, for a total power of 120 W. Important capabilities such as remote sense allow for the accurate delivery of voltage to the device-under-test (DUT) by compensating for loss due to resistance in the system wiring, while the output disconnect capability serves to enhance safety and control. This PXI-based approach provides instrumentation integration and streamlining of test rack design and eliminates the inefficiencies of mixing form factors.
The most important feature of the PXIe-PPS5101 system is its inherent scalability within the modular PXI platform. The internal chassis has 4 additional PXIe slots, allowing for seamless expansion of the system with other instrumentation such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes or switch modules from NI's vast inventory. This results in the ability to use a synchronized multi-instrument test station without a total overhaul of the hardware. The bundle is fully supported with NI's advanced and powerful software family, including the no-code InstrumentStudio for interactive measurement and control as well as LabVIEW for graphical programming, yielding a streamlined process for the entire test development, debugging and data analysis effort for difficult engineering problems.
