National Instruments PXI-2593 PXI RF Multiplexer Switch Module
The NI PXI-2593 (Part Number: 778793-01) is a high-density, 50 Ω RF multiplexer switch module that allows the user to configure it as an unterminated multiplexer, externally terminated multiplexer, or dimensionally adaptable sparse matrix. Every arrangement handles signal frequencies from DC to over 500 MHz. These single-slot switch modules utilize high-density push-on MCX connectors for discrete yet manageable cabling. The NI PXI-2593 module is intended to be incorporated with high-recurrence instruments, such as the NI PXI-5404 recurrence generator and the NI PXI-5112 high-speed digitizer. The PXI-2593 is a 16-channel unterminated multiplexer, which also offers external 50 Ω MCX terminators. The PXI-2593 RF Multiplexer Switch Module offers 50 Ω of characteristic impedance, 10 W of RF carry power, 150 V of CAT I (channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground) exchanging, is fully software configurable, and is an unterminated multiplexer. The device has a typical relay operate time of 2.4 ms and a maximum relay operate time of 4.4 ms; and an expected mechanical relay life of 5 × 10â· cycles and an expected electrical relay life of 3 × 10âµ cycles.
The user can configure the NI PXI-2593 module as a flexible sparse matrix, which can be used to route signals between any pair of channels or commons while keeping up >500 MHz data transmission and minimizing reflections. Dissimilar to a conventional sparse matrix produced using two multiplexers with their COM terminals associated; this module utilizes an adaptable design in which the user can characterize the row and column measurements. There is no limitation on row-to-row or column-to-column associations; it is even conceivable to associate various crosspoints. The device has a PXI power requirement of 3.5 W at 5 V and 1 W at 3.3 V; and a PXI Express power requirement of 4.5 W at 12 V and 1 W at 3.3 V.
The NI PXI-2593 has 18 MCX jack I/O connectors and 2 SMB jack trigger connectors. The device weighs 12 oz and has the dimensions 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 inches.
Apex Waves will continue to buy, sell, and repair EOL NI hardware in perpetuity. While the PXI-2593 has been declared obsolete by NI, it will remain available with Apex Waves in perpetuity
