National Instruments PXI-2530B PXI Multiplexer Switch Module
The National Instruments PXI-2530B (Part Number: 778572-30) is a 128-channel, high-density PXI multiplexer switch module. It is available in 1-, 2-, or 4-wire configurations. This reed-relay switch module features three matrix and four multiplexer configurations. Multiplexer configurations include eight banks of 16 x 1 (1-wire), 32 x 1 (4-wire), 64 x 1 (2-wire), or 128 x 1 (1-wire). The matrix configurations include 4 x 16 (2-wire), 8 x 16 (1-wire), or 4 x 32 (1-wire). A useful feature of this module is that the reed relays can be easily replaced in the field. In addition, the user can keep track of the relay health via the optional NI Switch Health Center. The user can implement any of these configurations by choosing the appropriate NI terminal block. There are three terminal blocks available for use with this module: the TB-2630B, TB-2631B, and TB-2632B.
The NI PXI-2530B is an ideal front-end element for high-speed measurement devices like the National Instruments PXI-4070 6½-digit FlexDMM. This multiplexer switch module offers 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, and CAT I channel-to-ground and channel-to-channel switching voltage. The front panel connector provided in the NI PXI-2530B is a 160-position, female type LFH matrix 50. Weighing 266 g, this module is a 3U, one slot PXI module. With this model, the user can achieve 0.4 A maximum current per terminal and 10 W maximum switching power per channel. It has a PXI power requirement of 4.2 W at 5 V and 1.2 W at 3.3 V.
While operating in typical conditions, this multiplexer switch module offers >19 MHz and >12 MHz bandwidth in 16 × 1 and 128 × 1 configurations, respectively. The PXI-2530B has a simultaneous drive limit of 64 relays and a relay operate/release time of 555 µs. This module can recognize pulse widths narrower than 150 ns if users run it with digital filtering disabled.
The NI device weighs 9.4 oz and measures 8.5 x 0.8 x 5.1 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and a storage temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C.
