National Instruments PXI-2535 PXI Matrix Switch Module
The National Instruments PXI 2535 (Part Number: 778572-35) is a high-density, 1-wire, 544-crosspoint PXI matrix switch module. This model is perfect for the routing of DC signals (low power) in various applications, just like validation test procedures of mass-manufactured devices, including printed circuit boards (PCBs) and semiconductor chips. This module comes featured with field-effect transistor relays and has an onboard relay-counting provision that can be utilized for deterministic and relay-monitoring operation in conjunction with hardware triggers to enhance test throughput.
The relays constituting the NI PXI-2535 offer tremendous speeds up to 50,000 crosspoints/s and unlimited mechanical lifetime. This Matrix Switch Module is designed to provide ±12 VDC, 8 VAC maximum switching voltage (channel-to-ground), 1.2 W maximum switching power (resistive per channel), and 100 mA maximum switching current. At 23°C, the DC isolation resistance between open terminals of the PXI-2535 remains >1 GΩ, typical. This switch model comes with integrated overvoltage protection circuitry, which actuates at ±36 VDC in the "powered on" state and ±40 VDC in the "powered off" state.
For a one-row-to-one-column-based 50 Ω system, this module can serve >1 MHz single crosspoint bandwidth. This module incorporates high-quality FETs featuring 12 µs typical and 16 µs maximum operating time. Moreover, it has a simultaneous drive limit of up to 544 switches. By design, the National Instruments PXI-2535 is a 3U, one slot PXI module with four 68-pin receptacle VHDCI I/O connectors. While operating within the specified temperature range (i.e., 0 °C to 55 °C), this module consumes 1.7 Watts of power at 3.3 V and 1.3 Watts at 12 V.
