Designed to operate with up to 8 GB/s maximum system bandwidth, the NI PXIe-1088 (Part Number: 784782-01) is a PXI Chassis. This 9-slot Chassis comes equipped with 8 hybrid slots. The backplane of this device is an all-hybrid backplane that supports a comprehensive range of measurement and test applications. In every peripheral slot of this Chassis, there are hybrid connectors, which brings you greater flexibility for the deployment of compatible modules. The NI PXIe-1088 works on AC power and comes with an integrated power supply. This module has a slot cooling capacity of 58 watts for slots 2 through 8; slot 9 (system slot) supports up to 38 watts.
The NI PXIe-1088 PXI Chassis comes with an integrated VCXO clock as well. The system slot of the NI PXIe-1088 (or Slot 1) is a 4-Link system slot as defined by the PXI Express and CompactPCI Express specifications. This chassis features 3 system controller expansion slots as well. These slots are provided for wider system controller modules that require more than one slot for deployment. The hybrid slots incorporated in this PXI Chassis are compatible with a versatile range of peripheral slots. The NI PXIe-1088 has a PXI backplane local bus also.
This PXI Chassis supplies a common system reference clock signal to every peripheral slot. You can use this reference clock signal (PXI_CLK10) to achieve synchronization between multiple modules in a control or measurement system. The cooling fans of the NI PXIe-1088 offer as much as 58 watts of power dissipation while operating in high mode.
