National Instruments PXIe-1086 PXI Chassis
The National Instruments PXIe-1086 (Part Number: 781720-01) Chassis is ideal for test, measurement, and control applications with demanding system uptime requirements. The Chassis features redundant, hot-swappable DC power supplies, as well as cooling fans accessible from the front panel. These high availability features improve the average time between failures (MTBF) and reduce the average repair time (MTTR) of the PXI system.
The PXIe‑1086 monitors power supply health/voltages, air intake temperature, and fan health/speed, and provides any failure feedback with the status LEDs located on the Chassis. The NI PXIe-1086 Chassis is fully compliant with the PXI-5 PXI Express Hardware Specifications, providing advanced timing and synchronization features.
The high performance for the instrumentation requirements of the PXIe 1086 Chassis includes: 4 GB/s (single direction) per PXI Express slot dedicated bandwidth maximum, 38.25 W per slot cooling that meets increased PXI Express cooling requirements, a variable speed fan controller which optimizes cooling and acoustic emissions, a low-jitter internal 10 MHz reference clock for PXI slots with ± 25 ppm stability, a low-jitter internal 100 MHz reference clock for PXI Express slots with ± 25 ppm stability, and full compliance with PXI and CompactPCI Specifications.
The design of the NI PXIe 1086 facilitates interoperability with CompactPCI. The backplane also features system controller slots, hybrid peripheral slots, system timing slots, a PCI Local Bus, a PCI Trigger Bus, and a system reference clock. The NI PXIe-1086 has a reliable 0 to 50 °C operating temperature range.
