National Instruments PXI-1006 Chassis

Featured with rack mount compatibility, a removable modular power supply, and over-current protection, the National Instruments PXI-1006 (Part number: 778303-01) is a 3U-sized, 18-slot Chassis. This model offers up to 600 W usable power. The NI PXI-1006 comes equipped with a remote power monitoring interface. Thus, this Chassis supports remote power inhibiting and monitoring. The user can configure this option by employing the 9-pin D-sub connector provided on the rear panel of the Chassis. The device is compatible with the PXI modules and CompactPCI models. A carrying handle is provided with the device to aid portability,

This Chassis supplies a system clock signal to each peripheral slot independently and an independent buffer drives the clock signal to every peripheral slot. Thus, the user can have this common reference clock signal for the synchronized operation of multiple modules in a control or measurement signal. In addition, the PXI_CLK10 system clock signal can also be derived by means of an external source through the PXI_CLK10_IN pin provided on the star trigger slot`s P2 connector. The NI PXI-1006 offers three PXI segments with the vertical bars representing segment divisions on the Chassis’ front panel. The PXI trigger bus is also divided into three different and separate trigger buses. In this arrangement, users can utilize the trigger line in various ways. As an example, consider the synchronized operation of multiple PXI peripheral modules. The device has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, and a recommended storage temperature range of -20 to 70 °C.

The PXI-1006 Chassis has 18 PXI slots, and offers a local bus connection with a couple of exemptions: slot 1 and slot 2. These two slots are not connected through local bus connections as it is restricted in the PXI specifications. Slot 1 of this Chassis is known as the system controller slot. The device weighs 29.2 lbs, has an AC input voltage range of 90 to 264 VAC, has an AC input range of 47 to 63 Hz, and is equipped with a 10 A circuit breaker to serve as a protection for unexpected current surges.

The PXI-1006 is now Obsolete from National Instruments, but the PXI Chassis will remain available in perpetuity for both purchase and repairs with Apex Waves!
