National Instruments PXI-1002 PXI Chassis
Designed to accept both 3U CompactPCI and 3U PXI modules the National Instruments PXI-1002 (Part Number: 778114-01) is a general-purpose chassis. This model provides the user with platform options required to meet automation and measurement application needs. The NI PXI 1002 comes incorporated with all features defined by the CompactPCI and PXI specifications.
This PXI Chassis offers 4 slots (3 peripheral, 1 controller) and 3 controller expansion slots (left of the controller). The National Instruments PXI-1002 comes with an auto selector and can be operated with 90 to 135 or 180 to 265 VAC, 47 to 63 Hz input frequency. This Chassis also offers 170 W of maximum useable output power.
The integrated backplane of the PXI-1002 supports all the PXI specification defined trigger signals and high-precision synchronization. It also supports the star trigger bus, module-to-module local buses, and 10 MHZ reference clock. To achieve the system module’s tight synchronization, the 10 MHz reference clock can be used. This general-purpose Chassis comes equipped with 1 fan - designed to supply filtered air for forced internal cooling. The total cooling capacity of this fan is 170 W, and it can provide 93 cfm of filtered air.
The NI PXI-1002 is a reliable model with a predicted 85,000 hours of mean time between failures. This Chassis has a flexible design; users can have it installed in a variety of applications. It is offered with an optional rack-mount kit that can be used for installation in a 19 inch rack.
The NI device weighs 9.5 lb, and measures 8.4 x 10.1 x 7.5 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –40 to +70 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%. The chassis is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: UL 3111-1, IEC 1010-1, and CSA 22.2 No. 1010.1.
PXI-1002 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
