National Instruments PXI-1000B Chassis

The National Instruments PXI-1000B (Part numbers: 777551-01 and 777551-11) is an 8-Slot PXI Chassis for 3U modules–it has 1 controller and 7 peripheral slots, and each slot has a cooling capacity of 20 W. This Chassis comes featured with a removable, modular power supply, protection for over-current (via push reset CB), and a selectable fan speed for quiet operation or maximum cooling. Also, it has a carrying handle for portability. The PXI-1000B offers up to 300 Watts of the usable power supply and 160 Watts for DC-capable supply.

This model can be operated over a universal range of input voltage because it features auto-frequency and auto-voltage ranging. Another important feature of this PXI Chassis is its backplane`s interoperability with standard CompactPCI products and PXI-compatible products. As defined in the PXI specifications, this Chassis can be used with the system controller located in Slot 1. In addition, it has three controller expansion slots. These slots can be utilized for system controller modules that require more than one slot. Thus, these expansion slots allow left-bound expansion of the controller to prevent it from using peripheral slots.

With the NI PXI-1000B, the user can utilize the trigger lines in multiple ways. The eight PXI trigger lines are "bused" to each slot. The user can utilize these triggers to sync the operation of various PXI based peripheral modules. The PXI-1000B is also offered with a combination of AC and DC input power supplies (150 W) under the part number 777551-11. However, in its standard configuration this Chassis comes with only an AC input power supply, has an AC input voltage range of 90–264 VAC and an input frequency range of 47 to 63 Hz. This model comes with integrated cooling fans, therefore offering forced cooling in HI and LO modes. The device is equipped with a 9-pin D-SUB rear connector. The device weighs 19 lbs., and measures 14.9 in x 10.64 in x 7.0 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0° to 50° C, and a storage temperature range of –20° to 70° C.

PXI-1000B Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
