National Instruments PXIe-AI5100 PXI Analog Input Bundle
The National Instruments PXIe-AI5100 (Part Number: 867125-03) is a modular PXI analog input bundle that meets the needs of high-precision and multiple-channel data acquisition applications. This complete solution contains the PXIe-1083 chassis, having a 5-slot PXI Express midplane, and the PXIe-4309 high-resolution analog input module. This package is well suited for test, measurement and control systems, providing the necessary hardware for demanding signal acquisition applications in research, validation and production test environments.
The heart of the PXIe-AI5100 is the PXIe-4309 analog input module, having excellent measurement fidelity. The module is equipped with 32 differential input channels, a flexible resolution of 18 to 28 bits, and a maximum sample rate of 2 MS/s. The module features different input ranges from ±0.1 V to ±15 V enabling the use of a wide variety of signal levels. Several advanced integrated features, including auto-zero techniques and chopping mode, are implemented to minimize offset drift and low-frequency noise, which make highly stable and accurate DC voltage measurements possible. This makes the module well adapted for applications such as measurement of transducers and sensors, low frequency signals and automatic test systems where accuracy is required.
The module is housed in the PXIe-1083 chassis which is a rugged 5-slot PXI Express platform. This chassis provides stable power distribution, effective forced air cooling for modules that dissipate power up to 58 W per slot, and integrated system synchronization clocks for accurate timing between many instruments. The chassis has Thunderbolt connectivity designed to interface for high-speed data transfer directly to a host controller, enabling a simplified system integration. Thus, the combination of the high-density analog input with the reliable, scalable chassis makes the PXIe-AI5100 Bundle a powerful integrated solution for the engineer who is developing such data acquisition and automatic test systems where it is necessary to have not only a high channel count but also high measurement accuracy.
