National Instruments 778745-4204 PXI Analog Input Module

The 16-bit, 8-channel, 200 kS/s analog input module 778745-4204, often known as the PXI-4204, was designed by National Instruments specifically for use in PXI systems. This differential, simultaneous-sampling module has a broad input range of up to ±100 V and is designed for high-voltage applications, such 42 V automobile measurements. Maximum precision over the whole input range is ensured by the 778745-4204's programmable filter and gain settings, which are adjustable per channel. Measurement accuracy is improved by its simultaneous sample-and-hold capabilities, which removes phase delay between channels.

As part of the PXI-4200 series, the 778745-4204 simplifies measurement setup and configuration by integrating signal conditioning and data acquisition (DAQ) within the same device. This full-featured module features the National Instruments programmable gain instrumentation amplifier (PGIA), an instrumentation-class amplifier that ensures fast settling times at all gain settings. The instrument can accommodate a multitude of measurement requirements with its several input ranges, which include ±100 V, ±50 V, ±5 V, and ±0.5 V.

A total of eight differential analog input channels on the 778745-4204 can sample data at a rate of 200 kS/s when all channels are sampled concurrently, or 22 kS/s per channel. Additionally improving signal accuracy, it includes a two-pole software-programmable Butterworth filter with configurable values of 6 Hz and 10 kHz per channel. Phase disparities between channels can be eliminated thanks to the track-and-hold circuitry of the module, which offers simultaneous sample-and-hold capacity.
