National Instruments PCI-5412 Waveform Generator Device
The PCI-5412 is an Arbitrary Waveform Generator Device manufactured by National Instruments. There are several variations of this device with different onboard memory sizes: part number 779177-01 with 8 MB onboard memory, part number 779177-02 with 32 MB onboard memory, and part number 779177-03 with 256 MB onboard memory. The NI PCI-5412 can produce mixed signal test systems by coordinating the device with a digital waveform generator and other digital processing units. It can also perform the same operation by synchronizing multiple arbitrary waveform generators. This forms a cohesive multichannel generator. The NI PCI 5412 can download waveform at 84 MB/s with a host computer. This speed is much faster than conventional GPIB based instruments.
The NI PCI-5412 has 16 bit resolution and a sampling rate up to 100 MS/s. The analog bandwidth is 20 MHz. The PCI-5412 device contains digital interpolation, which enhances the waveform quality of the signal at the output. The user can additionally disable various filters, such as analog and interpolation schemes of filtration for sharp waveforms. It contains video signals, beats, and square waves. As a result, there are low pulse deviation and fast fall/rise times. The NI PCI-5412 has 4 advanced trigger modes. This includes single mode, continuous mode, burst mode, and stepped mode.
The NI PCI-5412 is equipped with T-Clock synchronization technology. This feature enables 2 or more PCI-5412 devices to synchronize and is used for application with a large number of channels like component video generation. T-Clock can coordinate an NI PCI-5412 with an SMC built high speed digitizer. It can also sync with a digital waveform generator. The outcome is a tight connection of analog and digital inducement and retort.
PCI-5412 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
