The National Instruments PCIe-6352 (Part Number: 790589-01) is a high-speed multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) card developed for its precision in the measurement, control and automation systems. This DAQ card is designed for installation into the current computers through the PCI Express (PCIe) bus. This type of bus (PCIe) allows the fast and reliable transfer of data as well as the synchronized I/O function, which is most desirable for industrial, scientific and research-related functions.
The PCIe-6352 DAQ device incorporates thirty-two analog input channels, forty-eight digital I/O lines and four 32-bit counter/timers in a compact form factor. The I/O Device is 16-bit capable of resolution and sampling rates up to 1.25 megasamples per second (MS/s) per channel. This means the capture of accurate analog signals, which can be reported by the use of sensors, transducers and instrumentation. Its large ranges (i.e. ±0.1 V to ±10 V) and > 10 GΩ input impedance yield versatile signal conditioning and stable measurements over a myriad of environments.
The PCIe-6352 has configurable digital I/O functions so that it incorporates both digital and waveform operations, which will accept clock frequencies of up to 10 MHz. The counter/timers, which are incorporated in this device accept advanced function-generating capabilities for PWM (pulse-width modulation), encoder position tracking, event counting and frequency measurement techniques. This is most favorable for motion control systems and real-time process control.
The device incorporates programmable function interface (PFI) terminals and RTSI (Real-time System Integration bus) bus terminal connections, which afford precise timing and triggering for internal analog, digital and external functioning. The device supports the onboard frequency generator, PLL (Phase-Locked Loop), and a major number of DMA (Direct Memory Access) channels for the fast synchronizations of the data being sent with dwindling latency.
It has been designed for use in industrial automation, data logging, automatic test and measurement forms of application.
