National Instruments SH48-48B Shielded Cable Assembly

The NI SH48-48-B is a shielded cable used in SCXI signal conditioning systems. The SH48-48-B is the cable that connects the front connector of a compatible SCXI module to the NI TBX-1326 terminal block. It is used for automated test and measurement and lab systems, industrial monitoring, and control/switching environments.

The SH48-48B may also be used in aerospace or defense organizations as part of their test equipment infrastructure. Shielded cabling is a component required for EMC compliance. It is available in 1m, 2m, and 5m lengths, which makes it suitable for different rack and system layouts. It is available in different lengths so users can match the cable to their system layout, whether the terminal block is mounted close to the SCXI chassis or farther away in a rack or test setup.

This shielded cable is not interchangeable. NI specifies that it is designed for use with the NI TBX-1326 terminal block. The NI TBX-1326 is a high-voltage DIN rail terminal block with 48 screw terminals for signal connections to the SCXI-1162, SCXI-1162HV, SCXI-1163, and SCXI-1163R modules, arranged in eight groups of six terminals, called banks. Each bank is isolated from all the other banks. 

The TBX-1326 meets several international safety standards for measurement and control equipment, including EN 61010-1, UL 3111-1, and CAN/CSA c22.2 no. 1010.1. Together, the TBX-1326 and SH48-48-B limit the maximum common working voltage between banks or between banks and earth ground to 250 Vrms maximum.
