National Instruments PXI-7352 Stepper/Servo Motion Controller Module
Featured with eight 16-bit analog-to-digital converters for data acquisition, the NI PXI-7352 (Part Number: 778540-02) is a 2-Axis, Servo/Stepper PXI Motion Controller Module with Sinusoidal Commutation. This module is recommended for both general and complicated motion applications. The NI PXI-7352 provides the right blend of control for motion trajectory and fully coordinated linear, circular, point-to-point, vector space, and gearing control. This model can work in either host-centric programming environments or an embedded real-time motion arrangement. With the help of NI-Motion Drive software, the user can have all axes started at once. Since it is a sinusoidal commutation supporting module, the NI PXI-7352 can also be used as a controller for brushless motors.
For the NI PXI-7352 controller, the user can proceed with a PID update rate of 62.5 μs for up to two axes. This controller comes with an increased resolution for analog-to-digital conversions. Thus, it provides the user with high resolution for analog position feedback. For precise timing between motion and measurement, the NI PXI-7352 offers buffered breakpoints. With this feature, the user can extend a buffer of position breakpoints to the controller to get a digital signal triggered upon reaching the position in the buffer. Buffered breakpoints can trigger at higher rates, up to 2 kHz.
The NI PXI-7352 is a robust controller with sophisticated performance specifications. The PID update range is 62.5μs/sample to 5 ms/sample and it can operate at a gear ratio of 32,767:1 to ±1:32,767. This model comes with 1 to ±20,000,000 counts/s velocity range for servo operation and 1 to 8,000,000 steps/s velocity range for stepper operation.
The PXI-7352 has been announced as Obsolete by National Instruments (NI), but the Motion Controller Module will still be available for purchase and repairs in perpetuity by Apex Waves.
