National Instruments PXI-7344 Stepper/Servo Motion Controller Module
Featured with advanced motion control, handy software tools, and motion VI libraries (to be used with LabVIEW), the NI PXI-7344 (Part Number: 777935-01) is a 4-Axis, PXI Stepper/Servo Motion Control Module. This controller is designed for PXI, PCI, and 1394 bus computers. With this model, the user can run as many as 10 motion programs at the same time in a real-time, preemptive, multitasking OS environment. This model comes featured with enhanced, PID/PIVff servo updates at a rate of 62 μs per axis. The NI PXI-7344 has motion Input/Output for home switch inputs, a breakpoint output, end-of-travel limit, trigger input, and up to 20 MHz encoder feedback rates. It is equipped with 32 digital I/O bits, and an analog input resolution of 12 bits. The NI PXI-7344 has 8 multiplexed analog input channels, with 4 user signals; and 4 analog output channels. It has 4 8-bit digital I/O ports.
The NI PXI-7344 is designed to support the National Instruments’ proprietary Real-Time System Integration (RTSI) bus. This bus offers high-speed and efficient connectivity between different products from National Instruments. The RTSI bus is an ideal solution for data acquisition (DAQ) and image acquisition (IMAQ) products. With this bus, the user can synchronize their NI PXI-7344 easily across multiple IMAQ, DAQ, or motion devices to a common timing or trigger event. There is a high density 68-pin female VHDCI connector provided for Motion I/O connections.
This model supports LabVIEW, which is an application software based on a graphical programming language. The model supports other application development software such as–LabWindows/CVI, BridgeVIEW, and the FlexMotion software. This program provides the user with sources required in the creation of 32-bit standalone executable and compiled programs. Thus, the user can consider the NI PXI-7344 as a viable solution for their custom automation requirements. In addition, National Instruments also offers the FlexMotion VI Library - a series of VIs (Virtual Instruments) for using LabView with the NI PXI-7344. The device has an operating temperature of 0 to 55 °C.
National Instruments has announced the Obsolete Status of the PXI-7344, but Apex Waves will keep the Motion Controller available in perpetuity for both purchase and repairs.
