National Instruments FP-RLY-420 Relay Module for FieldPoint
The NI FP-RLY-420 (Part Number: 777518-420) is an 8-relay channel for FieldPoint. The module is designed to be used with NI FieldPoint systems and must be mounted on compatible FieldPoint terminal bases for field wiring. This FieldPoint Relay Module comes with eight single-pole, single-throw channels and can switch up to 3 amperes while operating at 35 VDC or 250 VAC.
Each relay channel provided on this module comes with two terminals. For module and load protection, a 3 A, 250 V fuse can be installed. This module features eight electromechanical (SPST) relays. To ensure safe installation and configuration, the power-on state of the module is set as OFF. In the ON state, the NO and IC contacts connect to form a short circuit, causing the effective resistance of up to 150 mΩ.
The NI FP-RLY-420 features integrated protection MOVs. These MOVs prevent the application of excessively high voltage across the contacts. This module operates with 250 Vrms continuous isolation between the field wiring connections (channels) and the backplane or inter-module communication bus. To protect the module and the load from damage, you should install a 3 A, 250 V maximum, fast-acting fuse suitable for your specific load at the IC terminal of each individual channel.
The module is hot-swappable. Installing the FP-RLY-420 onto a powered terminal base will not disrupt the operation of the bank. The module features green POWER and READY indicators, as well as individually numbered green indicators for each channel that light up when that specific channel is in the ON state.
The National Instruments FP-RLY-420 Relay Module is designed for an operating temperature range of -40 to 70°C. The expected mechanical life of the relays is 20 million operations, while the expected electrical life is 100,000 operations.
