National Instruments FP-DI-DC Digital Input Module
The FP-DI-DC is a digital input module with 2 isolated input channels. The module can also be identified by the part number 778071-03. The NI FP-DI-DC is used for 24 VDC signal monitoring. The module’s nominal input voltage is 5 to 24 VDC, and it has a voltage range of 0 to 32 VDC. When ON, the minimum voltage level is 3.0 VDC, while the maximum level in the OFF state is 0.9 VDC. The current level, when in the ON state, has a minimum of 1.0 mA and a maximum of 0.1 mA when in the OFF state. The module includes channel-to-channel optical isolation, as well as barriers for isolation from the power supply and backplane.
The status of channels is configured and comes with LED indicators. The LEDs enable the user to identify the status of the channels. If a voltage over the threshold exists between the “a” and “b” terminals, then the channel is in the ON state. The NI FP-DI-DC module can be used with either sinking or sourcing devices.
This module can be connected to the FP-TB-10 terminal base. The maximum power requirement for this module is approximately 60 mW from the network module.
The module's field-wiring diameter is 24 to 12 AWG. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of -40 to 70°C and -55 to 85°C, respectively, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%. The NI device is designed to comply with the many electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 3121-1, UL 61010C-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1.
