National Instruments FP-DI-301 Digital Input Module
The FP-DI-301 (Part Number: 777518-301) has 16 input channels, a 1 kHz update rate for all channels, and an input ON range from 15 to 30 VDC and an OFF range below 5 VDC. The device has a reverse voltage protection of -30 VDC. The NI FP-DI-301 module includes a hot swappable (plug-and-play) feature that allows you to install it into a powered terminal base without disrupting the operation of the FieldPoint Bank. It offers built-in channel-to-ground isolation for industrial signal protection. This module monitors limit switches, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, and 24 V industrial logic signals.
The module has 24 VDC sinking inputs and is therefore compatible with 24 VDC sourcing-output devices (like sensors) that drive current from a positive supply voltage to a common ground. To avoid false readings, ensure that any connected sourcing device has an OFF-state leakage current of less than 1 mA.
The device has an input impedance of 5 kΩ and consumes 400 mW of power from the network. The National Instruments FP-DI-301 Digital Input Module has an operating temperature of -40 to 70°C. Because this module uses sinking inputs, it must be paired with PNP/sourcing output devices. While the module includes robust channel-to-ground isolation, it is important to note that there is no isolation between the channels.
