National Instruments FP-AO-200 FieldPoint Analog Loop Output Module

The FP-AO-200 (Part Number: 777518-200) is a FieldPoint analog output module with 8 channels. The module provides current outputs for industrial control loops and other current-driven devices. Because this is a current-output module, it must have external loop power. It does not fully power the loop by itself.

The FP-AO-200 provides channel-to-backplane safety isolation of 2300 Vrms and onboard diagnostics. This module is hot-swappable and can be plugged in without disturbing other modules. The operating power is supplied to the FieldPoint FP-AO-200 from the terminal base.

The eight output channels are single-ended with a resolution of 12 bits. The output channels of the FP-AO-200 are programmable. These channels can be configured to operate on two different output ranges. The FP-AO-200 has an output range of either 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA. The voltage drop in the module is 3 V. The FP-AO-200 includes open-loop detection and short-circuit protection. The maximum conversion rate of the NI FP-AO-200 is 200 updates per second. The module has a slew rate of 0.4 mA/µs.

The module supports external power in a range of 5-24 VDC. The power requirement from the network module is 350 mW. The FP-AO-200 features 10 LED lights. Two indicators display the POWER and READY states. The other eight lights are open-loop indicators. The FP-AO-200 also provides channel wiring through the compatible terminal base, with dedicated output and COM connections for each channel.
