National Instruments FP-AI-111 Analog Input Module

With 3 software-configurable input ranges, 16-bit resolution, and 16 analog current input channels (single-ended), the NI FP-AI-111 is an analog input module that is hot-swappable. The terminal base provides the module with the required operating power as well. For firm installation, snap-in mechanical retention using module latches.

Each of the channels available on this module has its own input terminal for current input. Users who want to operate an external power supply for devices located in the field can connect the power supply to the C and V terminals of the connector block or the terminal base. Integrated overcurrent protection up to ±30 mA is also provided for the current input channels. With the provision of selectable input ranges, users can choose an appropriate input range to ensure the signal they are measuring does not go beyond either end of the selected range.

The NI FP-AI-111 module uses delta-sigma ADCs and selectable digital filtering to improve noise rejection. These ADCs offer up to 16 bits or 12 bits of resolution while operating at 50/60 Hz and 500 Hz, respectively. This module is tested to withstand transient voltages of up to 2300 Vrms. It has a power requirement of 350 mW, an input impedance of 100 Ω, and an input noise of 0.3 µArms when using the 50 or 60 Hz filter. Status LEDs indicate module power and operational state.

The NI FP-AI-111 has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of -40 °C to 70 °C and -55 °C to 85 °C, respectively.
