The 783849-01 provides dependable and effective performance for industrial environments with its 1 GB DDR3L RAM and 4 GB of nonvolatile solid-state storage.
The 783849-01 controller runs the NI Linux Real-Time OS, a 64-bit operating system optimized for real-time performance. Engineers and developers working on complex automation projects will find it useful as it supports a variety of National Instruments products, such as LabVIEW 2014 SP1 or later, the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, and the LabVIEW FPGA Module. Eclipse Edition 2014 or later for NI Linux Real-Time also makes C/C++ development easier.
Connectivity is a key feature of the 783849-01, which includes two tri-speed RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports that support IEEE 802.3 standards with auto-negotiated communication rates of up to 1,000 Mb/s and a maximum cabling distance of 100 meters per segment. Comprising two RS-232 ports and one RS-485/422 (DTE) serial port, the controller offers a wide range of serial communication choices. Both ports may operate at baud rates of up to 115,200 b/s and support multiple data bits, stop bits, and parity settings. In electrically loud situations, the RS-485/422 port ensures safe operation by providing isolation voltage up to 60 V DC constant.
For additional connectivity, the 783849-01 features two USB 2.0 host ports and one USB 2.0 device port, each supporting data rates up to 480 Mb/s. The collective current output of the USB host ports is up to 1 A, which is sufficient to power peripheral devices. A local human-machine interface (HMI) with a maximum resolution of 2560 × 1600 at 60 Hz is made possible by the Mini DisplayPort, which makes application creation and monitoring simple.
