National Instruments PXI-6533 PXI Digital I/O Module
The National Instruments PXI-6533 (part number: 777429-01) is a digital I/O interface module that features 32 digital I/O lines and 77.8 MB per second handshaked I/O. The 32 data lines of this versatile module are individually configurable—users can configure any line as input or output, grouped into four 8-bit ports. In addition, each line can sink or source up to 24 mA of current. The input voltage range of the module has an absolute maximum voltage of –0.3 to 5 V.
The NI PXI-6533 can easily be installed in any 5 V peripheral slot in the PXI chassis. When operating on DMA, the National Instruments PXI-6533 transfers data in 32-byte deep blocks. This module also allows the user to create event-driven application programs, as it can be programmed to create a message when designated settings are met. The PXI-6533 is equipped with a 68-pin male SCSI-II I/O connector, which requires power of 4.65 to 5.25 VDC at 1 A.
The PXI-6533 has a 20 MHz maximum sample rate and NI-DAQ driver software included. NI-DAQ allows for an effortless upgrade path and is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, and more. As far as its triggering capabilities are concerned, the National Instruments PXI-6533 Digital I/O Module offers TTL/CMOS-compatible digital pattern and rising or falling edge triggers, with a voltage level of 5 V. Its pattern trigger detection capability includes the detection of pattern matches or mismatches on user-defined data lines. This module can recognize a minimum pulse width of 10 ns for edge triggers; the bus connector type is a PCI master and target with onboard linking.
The environmental specifications for the DIO module include an operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C and a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C. Without including the connectors, the PXI-6533 measures dimensions of 6.4 x 3.9 in.
The PXI-6533 has been declared obsolete by National Instruments, but the digital I/O module will still be available for purchase and repairs in perpetuity by Apex Waves.
