National Instruments PXI-6529 PXI Digital I/O Module
The National Instruments PXI-6529 (Part Number: 779949-01) is a channel-to-channel, isolated, 48-channel PXI digital I/O module with sink/source inputs. This module is a parallel industrial input interface, which is considered an ideal solution for a broad range of applications, including industrial factory automation, automotive design, machine control, biomedical applications, etc. The device has a digital input voltage range of -60 V to 60 V and digital I/O logic levels of 60 V.
This module features change detection, digital filtering, and real-time system integration capabilities. The NI PXI-6529 offers a PXI start trigger line and eight lines for output. The PXI start trigger can be utilized for input only, while Input Port 0 and Output Port 3 can be configured to route signals and receive signals from the RTSI port, respectively. With its change detection function enabled, the user can monitor changes on all or selected input lines. In addition, the user can program this module to send a 200 ns pulse to all or any RTSI line on the detection of a change. This module comes equipped with a 100-pin high-density SCSI connector that provides access to 48 digital inputs on the device.
The digital logic of the NI PXI-6529 registers a logic low for the channel when no voltage is applied to the load and no current flows through the load or the module's input. The device registers a logic high for the channel when it reads a close position of the switch and when it detects a flow of current through both the device input and the load. This digital I/O module requires 250 mA current at +5 VDC (±5%) and 400 mA at +3.3 VDC (±5%).
The PXI-6529 is run using the NIDAQmx driver software, which is compatible with software packages or application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI. The device can be verified using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.
The NI device weighs 4.6 oz and measures 6.3 x 3.9 in. in physical dimensions. It has recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of 0 to 55°C and –20 to 70°C, respectively.
