National Instruments PCIe-6536 Digital I/O Device
The National Instruments PCIe-6536 Digital I/O Device is a high-speed, 32-bit interface. This cost-effective device is built on a PCI Express bus technology. This model offers an easy way to interface with a broad range of digital applications, such as handshaking, chip testing, memory testing, pattern generation, logic vector capture, etc. With this model, the user can transfer data in four timing modes: Pattern I/O (synchronous), Handshaking I/O (asynchronous), on-demand (static I/O or unstrobed), and Burst handshaking (synchronous).
The National Instruments PCIe-6536 Digital I/O Device can be used with a variety of accessories to meet modern high-speed digital applications’ connectivity requirements. Connector block CB-2162 or the VHDCI high-density connector are a couple of such accessories. This Digital I/O Device comes equipped with an onboard sample clock (48 Hz to 25 MHz), which is configurable to 200 MHz. Since it is a PCI Express oriented high-speed device, the PCIe-6536 can be used for the generation and acquisition of larger digital waveforms because it can stream continuously at or less than 200 MB/s data. The NI PCIe-6536 can easily replace NI-6533/34 devices currently in operation.
To interface this device with already existing NI-6533/34 terminal blocks and fixtures, the user can utilize the 653x cable adapter. This Digital I/O Device is fully compatible with the NI-DAQmx driver and supports almost all the major programming software applications, including LabVIEW and Visual Studio .NET. With this model, users can interface digital devices and systems with PC-based applications directly. Moreover, this device can be used for communications control or transferring data to a digital network or devices.
The total power of the Digital I/O Device is 6.1 W. It draws 750 mA of power for a power rail of 3.3 VDC, and 300 mA for a power rail of 12 VDC. Physically, the module measures dimensions of 7.13 in. × 0.85 in. × 4.93 in. (18.1 cm × 2.2 cm × 12.6 cm) and weighs in at 3.8 oz (107.7 g).
