National Instruments 778973-01 Digital I/O Device
Part Number 778973-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments PCI-6512 Digital I/O Device. The 778973-01 features 64 bank-isolated digital output channels that can be configured only in the source mode. It does not have any input channels. The current output for the 778973-01 is dependent on the temperature and the number of lines being used in a port: when all eight lines are used in a port, the module outputs 75 mA at 0 °C to 25 °C, 65 mA at 25 °C to 35 °C, 55 mA at 35 °C to 45 °C, and 50 mA at 45 °C to 55 °C. Similarly, when this mode is not used, the current on the only used line in a port takes the following values: 350 mA at 0 °C to 45 °C and 300 mA at 45 °C to 55 °C. The power-on state is user-programmable to 0 or 1 and it sits on 0(open) as default. The propagation delay is 80 µs while the programmable power-up states response time is 400 ms.
The power consumed by the 778973-01 is 250 mA (typical) at +5 VDC (±5%) and 300 mA (typical) at +3.3 VDC (±5%). On the other hand, the power available at the I/O connector (pins 50 and 100) is (+4.3 to +6.3 VDC), 20 mA/port. Note that for this to be achieved, the output Vcc must be greater than 10 VDC. The module measures 5.54 in. × 4.47 in. in physical dimensions and weighs 2.5 oz. A 100-pin keyed female SCSI connector is used for I/O purposes.
The recommended temperature range for the operation of the 778973-01 is 0 °C to 55 °C at a relative humidity of up to 10% to 90% RH. Likewise, the device is only meant to be used indoors within a maximum altitude of 2000m. On the other hand, it can be stored at –20 °C to 70 °C.
