National Instruments cRIO-9114 CompactRIO Chassis
The NI cRIO-9114 is an 8-slot, Virtex-5 LX50 FPGA reconfigurable embedded chassis used with LabVIEW to create high-performance industrial control and monitoring systems. It enables precise synchronization of C Series I/O modules via LabVIEW FPGA or simplified monitoring using Scan Mode in real-time.
The cRIO‑9114 (Part Numbers 780918-01 and 780918-02) chassis features 28,800 flip-flops, 28,000 6-input LUTs, 48 DSP48 slices (25 x 18 multipliers), and 1,728 kbits of embedded block RAM. Designed for demanding environments, the chassis operates in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 70 °C and can function at a maximum altitude of 5,000 meters. It is certified for use in hazardous locations, including Class I, Division 2 (Groups A, B, C, D, and T4) environments.
You can mount the chassis on a panel, on a 35 mm DIN rail, on a rack, in an enclosure, or on a desktop. However, if the ambient temperature is between 56 °C and 70 °C, you must mount the chassis on a thermally conductive material. Your installation must allow 25.4 mm (1 in.) on the top and the bottom of the chassis for proper air circulation. You must leave 50.8 mm (2 in.) in front of the modules to ensure adequate cabling clearance. To meet the shock and vibration specifications, you must panel mount the CompactRIO system and affix ferrules to the ends of the terminal lines.
To use a CompactRIO system in LabVIEW FPGA Interface mode, the user must either have the LabVIEW FPGA Module installed on the host PC or use a precompiled FPGA bitfile that can be deployed to the target. In either case, the host VI can use the Open FPGA VI Reference function to access and interact with the FPGA VI or bitfile.
