National Instruments cRIO-9066 CompactRIO Controller

The National Instruments cRIO-9066 (Part Number: 783169-01) is a CompactRIO controller with a 667 dual-core processor, 512 MB storage, and 256 MB DRAM, equipped with 8 slots. This embedded controller is ideal for advanced monitoring and controlling applications. The NI cRIO-9066 comes equipped with a real-time processor (running the National Instruments Linux Real-Time OS, as well as an FPGA). This controller comes equipped with one USB device port (USB 2.0 Hi-speed with a standard B connector, which transfers data at a maximum rate of 480 Mbps), one RS-232 serial port, one USB host port (USB 2.0 Hi-speed with a standard A connector, which transfers data at a maximum rate of Mbps), and one RJ-45 Ethernet port. It facilitates the connection of the device to a host computer/network by means of Ethernet.

The Ethernet port incorporated in the cRIO NI 9066 is a tri-speed, gigabit port, which comes configured and enabled to automatically obtain an IP address. The serial port provided in this model can be employed for connecting various serial devices, such as input devices and displays. The RS-232 serial port supports communication with serial instruments, PLCs, HMIs, and other industrial serial devices. For device configuration, debugging, maintenance, and application deployment, users can use the USB device port. Also, the device can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).

The RESET button can reboot the controller and also force startup into safe mode for troubleshooting and software recovery. In addition to a POWER LED and a STATUS LED, two USER-configurable LEDs are available on the front panel. The user can utilize the RT LEDs VI to define the USER1 LED, POWER LED, STATUS LED, and FPGA LED. This CompactRIO controller has an internal real-time clock with an accuracy of 5 ppm.

The NI cRIO 9066 operates on the NI-RIO device drivers 14.0 or later versions. Also, it runs on a variety of application software—LabVIEW 2014 or later versions, LabVIEW Real-Time Module 2014 or later versions, and LabVIEW FPGA Module 2014 or later versions.
