The cFP-RTD-124 (part number 777318-124) is an 8-channel temperature input module manufactured by National Instruments. This module is designed to measure temperature from RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensors in the Compact FieldPoint distributed I/O system. It's suitable for 2- and 4-wire RTDs with applications such as process temperature control, environmental chambers, and device testing. The NI cFP-RTD-124 can measure and linearize signals as well, providing direct resistance measurements with a 400 Ω range. The module offers automatic linearization to engineering units °C, °F, and K.
The NI cFP-RTD-124 can be calibrated to ensure reliable and precise analog measurements. The resolution is 16-bit. The backplane provides the operating power to the module. RTD types are detailed by nominal resistance at 0 and material composition. It is also characterized by °C and TCR. The NI cFP-RTD-124 can measure the temperature of platinum RTDs directly. This module can also provide inputs for 100 Ω platinum RTDs. These RTDs are generally referred to as PT100 RTDs. The device has a power requirement of 350 mW.
The NI cFP-RTD-124 has analog-to-digital conversion. The ADC is the Delta-sigma type. Each channel has software selectable input signal ranges. It has a 3 Hz signal input bandwidth. Each channel is updated once a second.
The NI device weighs 3.7 oz and has a recommended operating temperature range of -40 to 70°C; a storage temperature range of -55 to 100°C; a non-condensing humidity range of 10 to 90% RH; and a random and sinusoidal operating vibration of 5 grms and 5 g, respectively—all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz. The cFP-RTD-124 is designed to conform to industry standards for the safe use of electrical equipment, such as the following: - EN 61010-1, IEC 61010-1, - UL 3121-1, and - CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1.
