National Instruments cFP-DI-330 Digital Input Module for Compact FieldPoint
The cFP-DI-330 (part number: 777318-330) is a Digital Module to input data for Compact FieldPoint applications. This module is manufactured by National Instruments. The device has 8 DI channels. The module has universal inputs. These inputs enable the device to operate with multiple voltage ranges. The universal inputs work with any voltage from a 5 V TTL level up to 250 VDC or 250 VAC. The device is specially developed for sinking and sourcing applications. The module is also compatible with power sensing applications.
The NI cFP-DI-330 offers 250 Vrms continuous channel-to-ground isolation, which isolates the field wiring connections from the backplane and the inter-module communication bus to keep the interface safe. Each channel is attuned with 5 VDC to 48 VDC signals. They are also compatible with AC signals up to 240 VAC. The NI cFP-DI-330 can be installed easily. It is mounted on the backplane of a Compact FieldPoint device. It also helps provide operating power to the module. The NI cFP-DI-330 is equipped with eight current-limited universal inputs. These channels are structured with bi-directional optical isolators. All channels are equipped with two interchangeable signal inputs. These signal inputs are also referred to as INa and INb.
The NI cFP-DI-330 has 10 indicators. In addition to the POWER and READY indicators, it has 8 individual green status indicators that light up when a channel is in the ON state. It requires 200 mW from a network module. The signal current is directed from the input circuitry, and voltage must be applied across both the INa and INb terminals. The optical isolator then becomes operational. It registers as an ON condition. The current-limiting circuitry bounds the course of current to 1.5 mA.
