Keysight M9318A PXIe Vector Modulator

Keysight’s M9318A is a PXIe vector modulator that is used in the creation and control of complex Radio Frequency (RF) signals. The M9318A has been designed to be a total package solution by combining a wide-band quadrature modulator and a high-speed DAC into one slot PXIe module. The Vector Modulator provides users with total electronic control of the amplitude and phase of RF signals, thus allowing users to create or manipulate complex waveforms from baseband digital data.

Operating at a wide band of frequencies from 400 MHz to 6 GHz, the Keysight M9318A provides the high degree of accuracy required for demanding test scenarios. It has a very large amplitude adjustment range of 0 to -60 dB with a resolution of .1 dB, and its phase can also be adjusted to a full 0 to 360 degrees with an equal resolution of .1 degrees. The ability to precisely adjust both amplitude and phase is important to simulate many real-world signal degradation mechanisms, determine how sensitive receivers are, and measure the performance of components under controlled, repeatable conditions. The Keysight M9318A is capable of switching signals at speeds greater than 1 ms making it well suited for Automated Test Systems where high volume throughput is desired.
