Keysight M9005A 5-Slot PXIe Chassis
With its integrated controller and rack mountability, the Keysight M9005A is a reliable PXIe chassis for a wide range of applications. CompactPCI Express and 3U PXIe are just two of the many modules that this chassis works with. The 5 total slots of the device are divided into 3 slots that are hybrid-compatible and 2 that are designated only for use with PXIe. The M9005A has a total system bandwidth of 250 MB/s.
The power supply of the PXIe chassis has a nominal AC input voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC, and an input frequency range of 50/60 Hz. All of the outputs of the device are protected from short circuiting with the over current protection feature. Each slot of the M9005A is provided with 30 W of power, for a maximum total power of 150 W. The DC voltage measures 3.3V at 15 A, 5 V at 7.5 A, 12 V at 15 A, and -12V at 0.75 A.
To ensure that the chassis stays cools and operates efficiently, each slot has a cooling capacity of 38 W. There is a single (126 cfm) fan located on the bottom of the chassis, featuring a High/Auto speed selector. For optimal cooling and power dissipation, it is important to make sure that the top and bottom of the chassis are not obstructed. For instrument racks, this means making sure that there is a unit of rack space both below and above the chassis. When on a bench, make sure that the feet are installed. Filler panels and slot blockers should be used to cover vacant slots.
The physical dimensions of the M9005A measure 257.1 mm x 189.7 mm x 212.8 mm when the removable feet are attached. Without the feet, the height goes down to 177 mm. When there are no modules installed, the chassis weighs in at 5 kg (11.0 lbs).
The environmental specifications of the device include an operating temperature range of 0°C to 50°C and a noncondensing operating humidity ranging from 20% to 80%. When in storage, the PXIe chassis should be kept in environments where the temperature is within the range of -40°C to 70°C. The M9005A is operational in altitudes up to 2,000m (6,562 ft).
