Keysight/Agilent 33210A Arbitrary Waveform Generator

For industrial automation, Keysight's 33210A is a flexible Arbitrary Waveform Generator that functions as an arbitrary source at 10 MHz. It delivers accurate AC and DC test signals via direct digital synthesis, producing DC waveforms with steady low distortion performance across ranges and sine square ramp triangle pulse noise. This device produces ramp or triangle signals up to 100 kHz and sine and square signals up to 10 MHz. The generator supports pulse generation up to 5 MHz with adjustable width and edge control while its minimum pulse width is 40 ns and edge times range is between 20 ns and 100 ns. It maintains low timing uncertainty with 300 ps jitter and 0.1 ppm of period. The AWG offers a 14 bit 50 MSa per second arbitrary capability.

The waveforms of this generator range from 2 to 8192 points to achieve linearity 0.1% of peak amplitude. Its arbitrary outputs operate up to 3 MHz with typical 70 ns rise and fall characteristics across stored arbitrary shapes. Four non-volatile memory locations store frequently used arbitrary patterns for recall without external control equipment. The 33210A module provides 10 mVpp to 10 Vpp output into 50 Ohms with fine resolution and it supports DC offsets of 5 V into 50 ohms or 10 V open circuit. Its specified amplitude and offset accuracy ensure predictable generation of reference quality signals for calibration and verification tasks. The AWG features logarithmic and linear sweeps that range from 1 ms to 500 s.

The Agilent 33210A comes with trigger facilities that includes TTL compatible inputs and outputs with selectable slope control and defined pulse width parameters. It specifies less than 500 ns trigger latency and 6 ns typical trigger jitter for synchronized measurements. Its provided USB GPIB and LAN LXI C interfaces that follow SCPI compliance. The 33210A waveform generator meets IEC 61010 safety and relevant EMC standards for industrial operating environments. It operates in the thermal range up to 55 °C within specified limits for humidity and installation altitude. Its compact mechanical design with 50 VA maximum power draw simplifies rack or bench integration within complex systems. The unit’s warm up time is one hour.
