Keysight 3070 In-Circuit Test System
The Keysight 3070 In-Circuit Test System is a high-precision printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) verification solution for markets ranging from automotive, IoT, and 5G communication to energy. Designed to meet Industrial 4.0 standards, it enables rigorous testing of a broad spectrum of PCB sizes and complexities. The system implements a fixture design that reduces the signal path length between measurement circuits and devices under test (DUTs) to reduce parasitic capacitance, crosstalk, and unwanted coupling for enhancing the accuracy of measurements.
The 3070 is available in three configurations: E9903G (5,184 nodes), E9902G (2,592 nodes), and E9905G (2,592 nodes in a compact footprint). The analog tests include several components such as, capacitors, inductors and diodes, transistors, fuses, and switches, with an accuracy of up to ±0.25%. The digital test capabilities include programmable drive/receive channels (up to 5,184 nodes), logic analysis, and boundary-scan methods (IEEE 1149.1/1149.6), with vector depths of more than 4 million. The edge placement accuracy ranges from ±5 ns for Mux systems to ±24 ns for UnMux systems, while the pattern rates reach 20 million vectors per second.
Integrated instruments used in the form of arbitrary waveform generators (1 Hz–20 kHz), universal counters (1 Hz–60 MHz), and four-quadrant DC sources (0–±10 V) support functional test operations. The 3070 In-Circuit Test system increases diagnostic functions through several tools that range from Board Test Insight, Fixture Consultant, to Coverage Analyst. The pin cards (Hybrid-144, HybridPlus-DD) offer configurable drive/receive paths, programmable threshold levels, and have integrated nanoVTEP techniques to support high-speed signal integrity.
Physical configurations vary from model to model with 954–1490 mm testhead widths and up to 523 kg maximum loads. Fixture kits hold up to 757 mm PCBs with long- or short-wire technologies to ensure best probe contact. Compressed air and vacuum interfaces ensure safe DUT fixing during test. With Windows 10 compatibility, the 3070 accommodates peripherals like programmable power supplies and bar code readers to ensure minimal workflows in high-volume manufacturing scenarios. With transportability, repeatability in-built and Industry 4.0 standard compatibility, the system meets the changing requirements in electronic validation and quality assurance.
