ADLINK PXIS-2508 PXI Chassis
The ADLINK PXIS-2508 is a compact 3U PXI Chassis designed for developing diverse test and measurement systems. This 8-slot chassis includes one system controller slot and 7 other peripheral slots that meet or exceed all PXI and CompactPCI specifications to allow for a wide variety of compatible hardware. This frame is well-suited as the base for data acquisition systems used in manufacturing tests and R&D applications. Constructed from lightweight aluminum, this frame offers greater mobility than heavier frames without losing any of the strength of a system built into a rugged frame design, therefore offering users a solution that will work effectively in either a benchtop or mobile environment.
The Intelligent Control Board included in the frame continuously monitors important parameters related to system performance (internal temperature, fan speeds and power supply voltages). The chassis management system allows for dynamic fan speed control based upon these monitored parameters so that the system produces a very low noise level of 41.6 dBA during normal operation. Users are able to access and monitor system status information remotely via a standard RS-232 interface, which allows for centralization of monitoring and control and remote power cycling of the system. The unit is powered by a highly reliable 350-watt industrial-grade AC power supply that supports a wide input voltage range from 100 to 240 VAC for worldwide use.
This frame is designed for use in harsh environments, and the PXIS-2508 operates within a large operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C. Two high-flow fans are utilized to provide ample airflow to each slot in the frame, and airflow is demonstrated to provide sufficient cooling at elevated temperatures. Additionally, the frame meets industry standards for emissions, safety and immunity. The PXIS-2508 features front panel status LED indicators for fast visual indication of system status and simple-to-use card guides for quick and easy insertion of modules into the frame.
