The ADLINK PXI-2508 is an industrial-grade 3U PXI chassis designed for high-performance test and measurement applications. It complies with PXI Hardware Specification Revision 2.2 and supports a total of eight slots, including one system slot and seven PXI or CompactPCI peripheral slots. Its compact aluminum construction ensures high mechanical rigidity while maintaining lightweight portability for demanding industrial environments. The PXI-2508 chassis is equipped with an intelligent control system that continuously monitors key operating parameters such as internal temperature, system voltages and fan speeds. This control logic adjusts cooling dynamically and provides reliable system performance across extended temperature conditions. Its integrated RS-232 interface enables remote monitoring and management of chassis health parameters for including remote power on or off control.
The PXI-2508 chassis features an industrial-grade 350 W AC power supply that ensures stable operation across a wide range of input voltages from 100 to 240 VAC. It operates with an input frequency of 50 to 60 Hz and supports current ratings of 8 A at 115 VAC or 4 A at 230 VAC. Its DC output provides multiple voltage rails including +5 V at 35 A, +12 V at 18 A, +3.3 V at 20 A and -12 V at 2 A, with a total regulated power capacity of 350 W. The combined +5 V and +3.3 V outputs do not exceed 35 A for ensuring safe and efficient distribution across installed modules.
The chassis of the PXI-2508 includes two 60 CFM fans with replaceable filters for providing effective thermal management verified under 55°C chamber tests. Its each slot benefits from a dedicated cooling capacity of 25 W for optimizing reliability for dense configurations. Sound emission levels are well controlled that produces 41.6 dBA at minimal fan speed and 47.3 dBA at maximum fan speed. Physically, the PXI-2508 chassis measures 280 mm x 177 mm x 303 mm (11.02 in × 6.97 in × 11.93 in), with a total weight of 5.9 kg (13.01 lbs.). It operates within ambient temperatures from 0°C to 55°C and can be stored between -20°C and 70°C. Relative humidity tolerance ranges from 10% to 90% non-condensing. The chassis withstands functional shocks of up to 30 G with 11 ms pulse duration and endures random vibration levels of 0.5 GRMS during operation.
